Scholar allows users to create profiles displaying their educational history, qualifications, achievements, and early career experience. The platform is accessible at https://scholarweb.uk/ and any future domain associated with the service.

Your Account

You must provide accurate information when creating your account, including your real name and a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. You must notify us immediately at scholarwebsite1@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may only hold one account on Scholar. Creating multiple accounts is not permitted.

What You Can Do on Scholar

Scholar gives you the ability to create a personal academic profile, share educational achievements and qualifications, connect with other students, post content including achievement updates, shared work, and challenge questions, send direct messages to connected students, and browse the profiles and activity of other users.

Your Content

You are solely responsible for the content you add to your profile and the posts you publish on Scholar. By submitting content, you confirm that it is truthful to the best of your knowledge and does not infringe the rights of any third party.

You grant Scholar a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display your content on the platform for the purposes of operating the service. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You must not post content that is false, defamatory, abusive, offensive, sexually explicit, threatening, or otherwise harmful. You must not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or qualifications.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Scholar in any way that violates applicable law or regulation, infringes the rights of others, attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or another user's account, scrapes, harvests, or otherwise extracts data from the platform by automated means, introduces malicious code or interferes with the operation of the service, or harasses, bullies, or intimidates other users.

Violations of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

Connections and Messaging

Direct messaging on Scholar is restricted to users who have accepted each other's connection requests. You must not use the messaging system to send unsolicited commercial messages, harass another user, or contact someone who has declined your connection request.

Self-Reported Information

Scholar does not independently verify the qualifications, grades, exam results, or other information that users add to their profiles. All academic data is self-reported. Scholar accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of information submitted by users. Users who view profiles on Scholar should be aware that the information has not been formally verified.

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. On deletion, your Firestore profile document and Firebase Authentication account will be removed. Residual data such as posts, comments, messages, and connection records may remain in the database for a short period before being removed.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms of Service, without notice.
